12/9/2010 You're invited: which water issues to watch, and why, in the Owens Valley
The Owens Valley Committee invites its members and the public to a meeting Thursday evening, December 9th, at 6:30 pm at the White Mountain Research Station classroom, 3000 E. Line Street, just east of Bishop.

OVC president Mark Bagley will discuss the Inyo/LA Long Term Water Agreement and a 1997 Memorandum of Understanding that ended 25 years of litigation over LADWP groundwater pumping and how these documents affect current water management and mitigation of pumping impacts. Mark will also discuss how well these water policies are working and which water issues are at the top of OVC's list of concerns. Questions from the public will be both welcomed and encouraged.

For more information about the Owens Valley Committee check the OVC website,, or call Mark Bagley at 760-873-5326.
