|10/19/2004||Candidate's Night Water Department Discussion|
|The Independence Civic Club will be hosting a general discussion of the Water Department at the Candidate's Night on October 19, 2004, 6:30 PM, with guest Greg James. The purpose of the discussion is to provide information to attendees regarding the history of the Water Department, its mission as defined by Board resolution, Board ordinance, Water Agreement, EIR and MOU, and what options exist for the future, including funding dilemmas. Also encouraged will be public input on the Water Department's future. Following this, at 7:30, incumbent Butch Hambleton and challenger Jim Bilyeu will answer a series of set questions and audience questions. We hope to have the media there, and encourage your attendance for both segments of the program.
The program will be at Owens Valley High School, 202 S. Clay St. Independence. Turn toward the Inyo Mountains at the Pines Cafe on Market St, proceed two blocks to Clay St and turn south for one block. The High School is a round building.
See you there.
