11/6/2008 Looking to the Future: a Climate Strategy for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
On Thursday evening, November 6, at 7:30pm, the University of California White Mountain Research Station (WMRS) and the Consortium for Integrated Climate Research in Western Mountains (CIRMOUNT) invite the public to attend a speech to be presented by Mr. David Nahai, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). Mr. Nahai will discuss LADWP’s strategy for adapting to changing climates and water resources. His talk is titled “Looking to the Future: A Climate Strategy for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.” This talk is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Methodist Church Hall Fellowship Center located at 205 North Fowler St. in Bishop.

The talk is the keynote speech for a conference being held at the Tri-Valley Fairgrounds located in Bishop, California, “Climate, Ecosystems, and Resources in Eastern California” (CEREC), from November 5 through November 8, 2008. The conference brings together distinguished researchers from across the country who represent diverse scientific disciplines as well as land-and resource managers from throughout Eastern California and Western Nevada. Oral and poster presentations will address topics of climate change, ecological impacts, and management options for adaptation.
